We welcome you to Eikesdal Camping

The village Eikesdal is worth a visit with its characteristic houses and the amazing and wild scenery, not to forget the tranquility, this will be a memory for life.

Eikesdal Camping is located amongs spectacular scenery, surrounded by high mountains and lake Eikesdalsvatnet.

We have 6 cabins for hire, 4 with bathrooms, parkingspace for caravans, motorhomes and tents.

In the building for sanitary facilities, there is a kitchen and washing machine for cloth.

A grocery and a cafè is 200m away.

The cabins are situated at the rear of the camping area overlooking the playground.

4 cabins with bathrooms – 30 m2 NOK 500 pr. night

2 cabins without bathrooms – 25 m2 NOK 350 pr. Night

The cabins contain 4 beds and a fully equipped kitchen.

It is possible to hire pillows, quilts and bedding.

Activities and experiences

We can offer you a walk up to the highest waterfall I northern Europe, Mardalsfossen, or you can stroll along the river Aura, which runs through the village. You can also go for walks up steep and demanding paths to the mountaintops nearby (all paths are marked).

A trip by car up Finnsetlia to Aursjøen is an unforgettable experience. You can lenthen the trip by taking a roundtour down Litledalen to Sunndalsøra, Eidsvåg and back to Eikesdal (about 93 miles).

Enjoy fishing both om lake Eikesdal and lake Litlevatnet, where you can catch salmon, trout and char.

We sell fishing permits.

The facilities include a playground with a trampoline etc in safe distance from the traffic. Boats for hire, tennis court, barbeque pits and there is a grocery store and e cafè 200m away.

We also arrange different meetings for vehicles and caravans during the season.

There is a base jumping near to the site, from Katthammaren. This is knomn world wide.

In August each year there is a festival called “The Eikesdal days”. It lasts 10 days and the program is full of exciting events. During these days there is a bicycle race starting in Eikesdal up the steep Finnsetlia to Aursjøen (900 m.above sea level) and Sunndalsøra (43 miles). There is a race for the really well trained.
